uNpOp

welcome to the slop of the charts. uNpOp is throwing down all the hits that missed and he’s not happy about it. “is this even music?” he mutters to himself while picking out some of your favorite un-hit wonders. selecting records that have familiar elements of pop music but is decidedly not pop music is tough work. unfortunately for him, uNpOp has a knack for it. here’s his latest collection of flop forty. he doesn’t care for it.

PBS

this is the kind of music you might stumble upon fumbling around the tv dial back in the seventies and eighties when you click on PBS and there is a band performing jazz that stops you from changing the channel. the music is new, engaging, emotional, groovy and so well performed that it draws you in to the moment. it creates a safe little nook you can curl up in and take respite from the troubles of the world.

Brocken Spectre

most of the time a Brocken spectre, also called a Brocken bow, mountain spectre, or spectre of the Brocken, is the magnified giantic shadow of an observer cast in mid air upon any type of cloud opposite a strong light source. The figure’s head can be surrounded by a bright area called Heiligenschein, or halo-like rings of rainbow-coloured light forming a glory, which appear opposite the Sun’s direction when uniformly sized water droplets in clouds refract and backscatter sunlight. The term ‘Brocken spectre’ was coined in 1780 by Johann Silberschlag, a German pastor and natural scientist who frequented the Harz mountains and observed the affect for the first time atop Brocken, the range’s highest peak.
this time though, it refers to a trancey techno mix that aims straight for the center of the Heiligenschein.

luv474 Whats So Funny Bout Peace Love And Always Dancing

What’s So Funny ‘Bout Peace, Love And Always Dancing?

when I first stumbled upon house music one of the things that really attracted me to it was how much positive emotion radiated from it. often times a few uplifting words, sung or spoken, in repetition could really change the mood on a dancefloor. a few hundred people chanting in unison phases like “i’m gonna help myself”, “i love music”. “together” or “find a better day” was a healing process. beyond the driving beats, insatiable grooves and good times lies the true revolution in house music, unabashed positivity. when being a positive force in the world is a truly revolutionary act, what’s so funny ‘bout peace, love and always dancing?

Janky Robots Up To No Good

“Delores!!! Those janky robots are up to no good again!! Ever since they moved in downstairs it’s been so noisy. Every night and twice a day those broken down robots make a racket with their bleeps and bloops, incessant beats and noise, noise, noise! I mean it is kinda charming to see those tiny machines really get into a groove, all bopping along really into the so-called “music” they make, but they really cause a ruckus. Their only saving grace is that their battery packs run down in less than an hour so they never go too long before having to take a break and recharge. Heck, sometimes it ain’t that bad.”
