a little mix i just composed not so long ago

in preparation for the Jazz Amnesty Sound System‘s appearance at the 18th annual Under Pressure International Graffiti Convention I have composed a set of jazz inspired hip hop, jazzy instrumental beats and heavily sampled funky jazz cuts to better help connect the dots between these two American born forms of musical expression.

Sloppy Joe’s Saturday Morning Fun Mix 4!

every Saturday morning, as a kid, Sloppy Joe stumbled up the stairs, made a big bowl of sugary cereal, hit the couch and turned on the cartoons. the swirl of colors, commercials, music, strange voices, unreal plot lines and odd sound effects distorted time and space and forever altered his perception of life.

A Universal Peace Out

in 1980 they sent a capsule into deep space that was covered with graffiti and full of the earliest hip hop mixtapes. unbeknownst to the general public this time capsule has returned to Earth. it was completely repainted with new tags and all the mixtapes were recorded over with fresh beats and amazing flows. this is one of the mixtapes that returned from outer space.
